Costal Problems

Thailand's coast consists of sandy beaches, dunes, coastal wetlands, rocky coasts, cliff coast and islands. Some of the country's coastal problems consist of beach pollution, coastal erosion, reduction of coastal wetland, and reduction of sedimentary supply. These problems can be pointed in the direction to increasingly polluted coastal environment caused by natural processes and human activities. Coastal problems in Thailand can be solved by appropriate technologies and management approaches. The main cause of failure of achieving success is the overlapping responsibilities among the government agencies. The Thai Marine Policy and Restoration Committee responsibilities include are to study , prepare the policy and measure to develop the coastal area and environment degradation and to alert people.
