Costal Problems

Thailand's coast consists of sandy beaches, dunes, coastal wetlands, rocky coasts, cliff coast and islands. Some of the country's coastal problems consist of beach pollution, coastal erosion, reduction of coastal wetland, and reduction of sedimentary supply. These problems can be pointed in the direction to increasingly polluted coastal environment caused by natural processes and human activities. Coastal problems in Thailand can be solved by appropriate technologies and management approaches. The main cause of failure of achieving success is the overlapping responsibilities among the government agencies. The Thai Marine Policy and Restoration Committee responsibilities include are to study , prepare the policy and measure to develop the coastal area and environment degradation and to alert people.

According to Owlcation, mass wasting is the geologic term used to describe the natural downward movement of landforms  due to gravity. Mass wasting hazards can ranged from earth flows, landslides, mud and debris flow to rockslides and slumps. The country of Thailand to be particular is quite familiar with landslides. Due to the heavy amount of rainfall in Thailand landslides happen quite often. In the year of 2017 Thailand's National Disaster Warning Center announced the completion of a trial for a system that identifies areas where there is danger of a landslide occurring. This is just one of the things the country is trying to prevent from mass wasting hazards. Hello and Welcome! I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Briana. I just wanted to say thank you for visiting my blog! The country I'll be discussing during the course will be Thailand. In order to get an understanding of Thailand's geological features, terms and their definitions must be discussed. A catastrophe is a major disaster that requires a significant amount of money and requires a long time for recovery. While, a disaster is a limited event in a specific area that has affected 100 people or killed 10 people. A natural hazard is a threatening natural event, that is a threat to human life and property. Lastly, natural processes only are a hazard when humans stand in the way.
