Thailand's Volcanic Activity

Welcome back! Today we will be discussing Thailand's volcanic activity. As far as any recent activity no updates have been posted in about two to three years. Other countries surrounded by Thailand such as Indonesia has faced some sort of volcanic eruptions. In the year 2014, Indonesia was faced with the aftermath of two volcanic eruptions. In the month of February 2014 at least 34 people were killed questioning, the country if it's well equipped to handle such thing.

Tectonic Plate

In relations to Earth's plate tectonics, Thailand falls under the category of Eurasian plate. http://education.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?layers=69cb1f185afa47528708dbaa89e0729b&useExisting=1 According to Southeast Asia Research Group, " It is surrounded on all sides by volcanic and seismic activity, including the subduction at the Sumatra-Java-Timor trench, and collision between Australia and eastern Indonesia."  Certain hazards that occur in  Thailand could be anything from flooding, droughts, tropical storms, earthquakes, and landslides.  https://reliefweb.int/sites/reliefweb.int/files/resources/OCHA_ROAP_Tectonics_v1_2014_0.pdf
